This genuinely elegant piece was created by Fedoskino master Galina Davydova. A flawless palette of color and precise attention to detail all contribute to this piece making it a sincere portrait of Russian lacquer artistry.
The portrait painted here is a masterful depiction of an oil on canvas painting composed in the later half of the 19th Century. A charming little girl dressed in the white satin dress and holding the straw bonnet looks at the viewer with her innocent blue eyes.
The portrait is framed with a gold line, gold line also encompasses the edges of the lid; the box's sides are decorated with two parallel gold lines.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. A hinge is fastened to the left of the portrait, and the box rests on four legs. The work is signed with the artist's name, Fedoskino and the year of 2006.
