This peaceful summer landscape has been painted by Tatyana Tipyakova. The work is called "Far Away From Civilization". Here the artist has masterfully expressed beauty of a warm summer evening at Russian village. The scene is exudes Tipyakov's admiration of wild Russian nature.
This beautiful painting is done in very earthy tones that accentuate the wild setting in the composition. To create a mirror like surface of the winding river Tipyakov has used brilliant silver paint and a mother-of-pearl inlay. Gold highlights are applied to the leaves of the trees, and also can be found in the peasant's huts architecture.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The scene is outlined with gold, and two parallel gold lines can be found wrapping around the box's sides. A hinge is fastened to the top of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name, the title, and the year of 2007.
