This box is a creation of Yuliya Golubyonkova. Here she depicts a hunter who has lost his way in the winter forest because of a snowstorm. He, his dog and horse grouped very close to each other to protect themselves from the strong wind.
This painting is a replica of a canvas piece. Golubyonkova has done a good job of bringing the depicted state of nature through masterful painting techniques. Painted in oils, this piece shows three-dimensionality through highlights and shadows.
A thin gold line is used to frame the lid's compositional artistry while another gold line decorates the box's sides.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work.
