This interesting box is a creation of the talented Fedoskino artist Tatyana Tipyakova. It shows a small lake. Here the father and son are hunting for the river cancers and the father has catch a big one. The son is extending the bucket to a father.
The other two peasants are sitting on the other bank of the lake with the fishing rods and trying to catch the fishes.
The artist so realisticaly paint a beauty of a warm summer afternoon at the countryside! In this work the artist has managed to express her admiration for a quiet splendor of Russian nature. The banks of the lake covered with succulent meadows, there is a some small white-stoned church and small village houses on the back of the composition .
The colors taken from the palette are very natural and realistic, which enhances the quality of the landscape in the way it was rendered. Gold paint highlights foliage of the trees.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to complete the exterior of the piece while red lacquer completes the interior of the box. The lid is hinged at the top and the box rests on four legs. The work is signed, titled and dated (2001) by the artist.
