This marvelous marine scene is a creation of Natalya Gogina. Here she has drawn a quite harbor, and several ships anchored not far from the shore. Light grey and blue tones help to produce an atmosphere of a dull, cloudy morning. The scene is quite calm and peaceful.
The box's sides are decorated with gold scan patterns composed of tiny beads and rhombs hand punched from gold metal sheets and then painstakingly affixed by hand to the box.
The box is made out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The lid isn't hinged, and the box rests on four feet. The work is signed with the artist's name, Fedoskino, and the year of 2006 on the box's exterior bottom.
