Description: This small box continues Nataliya Gogina's series of works dedicated to Russian churches and monasteries. It shows a beautiful view of the St.-Triphon Church situated in the former village of Naprudnoe (now it is situated in the city of Moscow). The St.-Triphon Church was built in 1492. It is one of the oldest stone buildings in Moscow, and a rare example of early Moscow architectural tradition. Ivan the Terrible used to visit it when he went out hunting nearby.
The box's sides are decorated with gold and silver scan pattern (composed of scrolls and rhombs hand punched from gold/silver metal sheets, and then glued to the box manually).
The box is made out of high quality paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The lid is hinged from
the top of the scene, and the box rests on four legs. Signed with the artist's name, the village of Fedoskino, the title, and the year of 2005 on the box's exterior bottom.
