This nice, small box has been created by the famous Fedoskino landscape-painter, Tatyana Tipyakova. On the box's lid she has expressively painted the beautiful summer landscape. It is a warm, summer evening. The setting sun shines brightly in the sky. The small pond reflects the fire of the skies and all land seems to be overflowed with golden sunlight.
The box demonstrates Tipyakova's impeccable painting technique. A brilliant piece of mother-of-pear that shines with green and pink undertones is set into the pond. Gold paint is used to highlight the trees, the sky and to create a source of light in the windows of the peasant houses.
The box's sides are decorated with beautiful gold ornaments. For additional decoration the box's sides are covered with gold sputtering to imitate a stone color. The exterior is covered with black lacquer while red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The lid is hinged from the top of the scene and the box rests on four legs. The work is signed with the artist's name, Fedoskino and the year of 2002.
