This sentimental portrait of a little girl has been painted by the famous Fedoskino painter, Lyubov Krasnoslobotseva. The composition is an interpretation of a canvas-on-oil painting called "Portrait of Countess M.P. Tolstaya". Painted in 1852 by Ivan Makarov, it currently hangs in the Museum Association “Art Culture of Russian North”.
The portrait is framed with a gold line; two parallel gold lines decorate the box's sides.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The lid is hinged from the left of the portrait, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name, the year of 2008 and the village of Fedoskino.
