Known for her clever boxes with three-dimensional elements carved from them, Karina Kersilyan of Fedoskino takes her art a step further by making the entire piece more a sculpture than a box! These mushrooms as it has been said above peep from three-dimensional leaves, a three dimensional snail whose shell looks absolutely natural crawl along the cap of a big mushroom (this cap has holes that imitate the places eaten away by worms). What's more surprising is that the top section of the big mushroom opens on a hinge to reveal a small square compartment--a box after all!
The piece rests on a flat bottom, and is signed with Karina's first name on the bottom. A nice addition to any collection!
