This beautiful view of Moscow Kremlin in winter has been painted by Rinat Yunusov. The box continues the artist's series of works dedicated to the unique, ancient, Russian architecture.
The scene is painted in a realistic manner, with flashes of gold paint on the architecture, the trees and the snow. The correctness of drawing gives exceptional depth.
The box's exterior imitates a stone color (blue blurry spots and veins are scattered against the black lacquered surface). The interior is traditionally red. The box is made out of paper-mache. The lid is hinged from the top of the scene and the box sits flat. The work is signed with the artist's name, the year of 2008 and the title (“Moscow. The view of the Pokrovsky Cathedral”). The Pokrovsky Cathedral is better known as the St. Basil's Cathedral.
