This interesting Fedoskino box shows a tea party in the forest arranged by Baba-Yaga. Her guests are the Wood Goblin and the Cat. The friends are drinking hot tea from the savor with sweet raspberries. Wood Goblin and the Cat are listening attentively to Baba-Yaga's fairy-tales. It is night already but it isn't dark around the table. Everything is illuminated by a shimmering light of glowworms.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The scene is framed with a gold line; the box's sides are decorated with two parallel gold lines. The lid is hinged from the left of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the the artist's initials (P.M.).
