The well-known Fedoskino portrait painter, Yugeniy Dokuchaev, is the creator of this stunning box. In his works Dokuchaev tries to paint correctly and realistically individual features of his characters, and also to express their psychology and mood. Here he has painted the little girl walking with her dog in the park.
Dokuchaev was born in 1944. He finished Fedoskino Art School in 1962, where he studied under Ivanov, Davydov and Parfeonov. After that he continued his education in Moscow Art Institute (after Stroganov). He is married to another popular Fedoskino artist, Alimpiada Dokucheva. Both Mr. and Mrs. Dokuchaevs are specialists in a portrait genre.
The scene is framed with a gold line; two parallel gold lines can be also found wrapping around the box's sides.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. A hinge is fastened to the top of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name.
