Description:

The famous Fedoskino painter, Alimpiada Dokuchaeva, is the author of this splendid box. The world famous masterpiece “Danae” inspired the artist to create this work. The masterpiece was originally painted in 1553 by the great Italian artist, Tiziano Vecelli.
Tiziano Vecelli or Tiziano Vecellio better known as Titian was an Italian painter, the most important member of the 16th-century Venetian school. He was one of the most versatile of Italian painters, equally adept with portraits, landscape backgrounds, and mythological and religious subjects. His painting methods, particularly in the application and use of color, would exercise a profound influence not only on painters of the Italian Renaissance, but on future generations of Western art.
The composition is framed with a gold line; two parallel gold lines decorate the box's sides.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The lid is hinged from the top of the composition, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name.
