This interesting box is a creation of talented Komogorovs family-Svetlana and Konstantin. In this work the artists has painted an allegorical depiction of a Snowmaiden. Here Snowmaiden is shown as a romantic, young, winged girl among the forest animals like a fox and a hedgehog.
The composition is painted in bright oils. Gold metal leaf shines through the designs of the girl's costume and also through some of the plants. Gold metal paint is used to decorate the box's exterior with lustrous, wide bands running along the box's sides.
The box is constructed out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The box has a hinge from the top of the scene, and rests flat. The work is signed with the artist's name, Fedoskino and the title of the work ("Snowmaiden").
