This festive box has been painted by a talented Artist Svetlana Kolmogorova.
The work is called "Music of the Forest" and shows us a Lady playing a flute.
The scene is painted in bright oil paints to create a festal mood. Shining pieces of gold metal leaf that can be found in the plants are used to strengthen the festive and miraculous atmosphere of an Autumn. A lynx sit near the lady is very well and detailed painted!
At the top of the composition is decorated with large Maple leaves. The edges of the lid are adorned with a wide gold band that is extended on the box's sides.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. A hinge is fastened to the left of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name, the title, and the village of Fedoskino on the box's exterior bottom.
