On this box the artist has depicted a moment when one of two boys is sleeping in the forest, while the other boy is organizing a picnic. Various details of this composition-like cloths of the characters are painstakingly painted with a lot of diminutive details. The way the artist paint the shadows is a splendid example of the artist's gift for realism.
The composition is framed with a gold line. Two parallel gold lines can be found wrapping around the box's sides.
The box is constructed out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The box has a hinge from the top of the box, and rests on a flat bottom. Signed with the artist's name.
