This festive box has been painted by a talented artist Konstantin Kolmogorov.
The work is called "Sunrise" and shows us sunrise as young Lady. The scene is painted in bright oil paints to create a festal mood. Shining pieces of gold metal leaf that can be found in the costume of lady-sunrise and rich golden ornaments are used to underline her beauty.
The edges of the lid are adorned with a wide gold band that is extended on the box's sides.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. A hinge is fastened to the left of the scene, and the box rests on four legs. The work is signed with the artist's name, the title, and the village of Fedoskino @ the bottom of the composition.
