This beautiful winter landscape was painted by talented Fedoskino artist Sergey Kirsanov. Being enchanted with the beauty of Russian nature in winter, he has already created a series of dramatic winter landscapes. Each of them is perceptively and realistically painted showing a peculiar charm of Russian countryside!
The scene is painted in white and light gray oils suitable for reproduction of a dull winter day. Mother-of-pear is set into the sky to create a glow of the sunset, and to enliven the scene. Copulas of a small village Church are covered with a snow as well as the roofs of the wooden houses.
The scene is framed with a silver "scan" ornament as well as the side is decorated with same "scan" ornament.
The box is constructed out of paper-mache. It is hinged from the top of the scene, and rests on a platform.
The box's interior is traditionally red, the exterior is covered with a black paint.
The work is signed by Sergey Kirsanov.
