This beautiful box was painted by a talented artist Soloviova Elena from the village of Fedoskino. It depicts the still life with flowers and fruits. The bouquet composed of garden and wild flowers is bright and fresh. Each flower, bud, tendril, and leave is painstakingly painted to achieve a realistic representation.
The bouquet is painted in bright oils against the dark brown background that strengthens the colors. A piece of mother-of-pearl is shines through the grapes of the scene.
The box's sides are decorated with silver scan patterns. Scans are individual silver punch-outs that are applied to the box surface.
The box is constructed out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The box has a hinge from the left of the scene, and rests on a flat bottom. Signed with the artist's name and Fedoskino.
