Talented Yevgeniy Dokuchaev is one of the best Fedoskino portrait painters.
Portraiture the artist specializes in is the most difficult genre in art, and especially in lacquer miniature art.
Here the artist has chosen to paint the shoe repair master fixxing the the current boot.
He is looking precisly at the boot, because he has to hammer the nail and not hit his finger:)
The portrait is framed with a gold line. Two parallel gold lines can be found wrapping around the box's sides.
The box is constructed out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The box has a hinge from the top of the painting, and rests on a flat bottom. Signed with the artist's name.
