This superior Russian lacquer artistry was created by the talented Oleg Yastrebov of Fedoskino. His ability to depict strikingly decorative compositions is second to none. The work is called "Spinner", and features a girl spinning the yam under a big yellow moon.
The scene is painted in bright gray and white paints against the black background.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. A hinge is fastened to the left of the composition, and the box rests flat.
Lower part of the composition is framed with a simple ornament.The box is signed by the artist with Fedoskino school,year of 2016, title-Spinner and his sign-a heart (instead of signature)/
