This peaceful Russian winter village has been painted by artist Evgeniy Parnas of Fedoskino. It is shows a dull winter day. Silver skies are running above a village street. Wooden houses and trees are covered with snow. On the front we can see a bridge over the frozen river. The depicted scene reflects a special charm and beauty of the Russian countryside!
Light blue tones of oils help the artist to reproduce an atmosphere of winter.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. The lid is decorated with rich gold floral ornament, the sides of the box are decorated with other complex ornament.
Two small winter scenes are painted inside the box, on a lid and on a bse of the box.
Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the box. The sides of the box and edges of the lid are decorated with the mixture of red color and aluminum. The lid is hinged from the top of the scene, and the box rests on a wavy platform.
