This charming box is a creation of Taisiya Danchenko from the village of Fedoskino. The work is called "In awaiting", and depicts Santa came to sleeping girl and a boy in arm-chair who has asleep in awaiting of Santa and his gifts. The scene is painted against in bright blue oils; in some areas the oils are mixed with gold powder to produce a magic effect.
The scene painted on the lid is framed with dots and snowflackes. Glass beads are decorating the exterior bottom. The interior is traditionally covered with red lacquer, the exterior is light blue.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. The lid is hinged from the left of the scene, and the box rests on several glass beads. The work is signed with the artist's name, the title and the village of Fedoskino.
