Description:

Nazarova Margarita of Fedoskino is the artist who painted the composition on this box.
Here a young girl is pictured admiring her pet robin. She looks at it adoringly as it is perched comfortably on her finger. The robin is ruffling her feathers and preparing to sing a song to her beloved owner, who takes such good care of her. The robin loves when it can play outside of its cage and will make sure to make it worth the girl's effort by giving the girl some relaxing natural entertainment.
the original is named Tête d'Etude l'Oiseau and painted by William A. Bouguereau. Oil-based paint is the medium used to paint the composition on this box. The palette that is used seems bold and full of expressive colors. With skillful blending and shading of her paints the artist is able to give a smooth and flowing texture to the girl's blue dress and white blouse. The artist is able to give the illusion of transparency in the girl's sleeve, which directly exhibits the talent and artistic knowledge the artist possesses. The decoration of the tablecloth is also executed well, which reveals the fabric to be of a very rough texture. The box is constructed out of pressed paper . Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior and red lacquer is used to paint the interior of the box. For the box's decoration the artist paints three gold lines around the sides of the box: one that frames the scene, and two others below the opening of the lid.
The box has a hinge located to the left of the composition and rests flat. The box is signed with the artist's name, Fedoskino and '16 (2016).
