This elegant small box was painted by S. Chirkov from the village of Fedoskino. It features a beautiful woman holding a flower. Her face pained in soft yellow-brownish tones looks strikingly realistic. Each curl of her luxurious, red hair is painted separately and detailed with gold paints. The portrait of the girl is framed with original bright multicolored ornamentation composed of various geometrical figures, stars, lines, etc. The figure of the girl and this original ornamentation extends on the box's sides. All painting areas except the woman's face, neck and bosom are drawn over aluminum powder that strengthens the colors and decorates the box.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer was used to paint the exterior bottom of the piece while red lacquer completes the interior of the box. A hinge is fastened to the left of the composition, and the box rests on a flat bottom. Chirkov signed, dated (2005) and titled ("Dreams") his work on exterior bottom of the box in blue oils.
