Description:

This interesting work is a creation of Vladislav Maslov from the village of Fedoskino. Each of his works can create a sensation in the lacquer miniature world as it is notable for abundant detail and the ferocious beauty of the color combinations. All his works are painted on interesting and bold themes, and that is why they can be easily recognized.
The box has the shape of a stub. This stub is magic, as it is the house of the forest dwarf. He looks out the window painted in the middle of the box. The sunblinds of the window are crafted three-dimensionally. The dwarf reads the book entitled "Fairy-tales", and notes something in his big book. Besides the figure of the dwarf the composition also includes the images of birds, insects, plants and mushrooms.
The box's lid is decorated with three-dimensional toadstools and snails. Working on the box, the artist covered its exterior with a thick layer of bright gold metal paint, and after that he started to cover it with paintings. This produces a very beautiful visual effect; the box shines like a gem! The small round and oval pieces of mother-of-peal glued to the box' exterior sparkle like drops of dew.
The box exterior bottom is covered with blue leaves highlighted with silver dust. The lid is hinged from the top, and the box rests on four legs made out of small round pieces of mother-of-peal. The box's interior is covered with gold metal dust mixed with blue oils.
The work is signed with the name of the artist, the year of 2006 and the title on the square piece of mother-of-pearl glued to the lid's interior.
