This beautiful box is a creation of Oleg Nechaev from the village of Fedoskino. It features the old oak located on the riverbank.
The work is notable for a beautiful color palette based on combination of light blue and gold tones. The radiance of gold tones is produced with the help of gold metal leaf. Gold tones detail the oak and the ground near it. Mother-of-pearl creates the brilliance of water and the sky.
The scene is framed with a wide gold band made out of gold metal foil. The exterior of the box is covered with gold metal paint, while its interior is traditionally red.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. A hinge is fastened to the top of the composition. The box can be locked by means of a gold metal needle. The box rests on four small rounded gold metal legs. It is signed, titled ("Oaks") and dated (2005) by the artist at the bottom of the composition.
