This originally shaped small box has been painted by talented Fedoskino artist Marina Rogatova. Each of her work is an original artist's creation, and this one isn't exception. The box features the beautiful winter landscape. Although the ground is covered with silver blue snow, the spring is forthcoming. The flock of birds flying high in the ski returns to the North land from the South. A group of people look at the sky and welcome the birds.
The snow is painted in aluminum paints mixed with blue tempera paints. The sky is painted in lustrous gold metal paint. The contrast of gold and silver bluish creates a very beautiful visual effect.
The sides and the exterior bottom of the box are decorated with original gold ornamentation composed of a multitude of scrolls.
The box is made out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and dark red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The lid is hinged from the top of the composition and the box rests on a flat bottom. Signed with the name of the artist and the year of 2005 on the lid's interior.
