This gorgeous piece of authentic Russian artistry has been created by the talented Yuliya Danilina of Fedoskino. A beautiful combination of quality craftsmanship and exceptional artistry.
The worked is called "Spring", and features the beautiful girl surrounded with flowers and butterflies. She is the allegorical depiction of Spring as the artist imagines it. The girl's portrait is painted on a piece of mother-of-pearl, which shines with the fire and iridescence of Australian Opal and shimmers, creating a bright spotlight for the girl. The portrait is set into the frame made out of gold metal.
The box's exterior is of beautiful beige color and studded with tiny silver veins. Its interior is covered with the beige velvety material.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. A hinge is fastened to the top of the composition. The box can be locked by means of a gold metal needle. The box rests on four small rounded gold metal legs. It is signed, titled and dated (2005) by the artist at the bottom of the portrait.
