This originally shaped box has been created by the talented Yulia Danilina of Fedoskino. It is called "Golden Autumn", and features the beautiful girl whose costume and hair are adorned with golden maple leaves. In the background the artist depicts the trees covered with golden foliage. The painting is extended on the box's sides where we can see various plants, flowers and falling leaves.
The radiance of leaves that decorate the girl's costume (they are painted in the foreground), and the girl's earrings is achieved by means of gold metal foil. Gold paint highlights the leafed wreath on the girl's head, some of the leaves painted in the foreground, and some of the plants drawn on the box's sides. Mother-of-pearl is inlaid in the right portion of the leafed wreath for additional decoration.
The box's exterior is light brown; this light brown area is covered with almost invisible veins that imitate the veins on the leaves. The interior is traditionally red.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. A hinge is fastened to the top of the composition, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed, titled and dated (2006) by the artist on the box's bottom.
