Description: Nikolaj Zotov ranks as one of the contemporary masters in Fedoskino and we always love to present his works. This is one of the most beautiful that we've had.
The box has the unique, original shape, and it doesn't look like a box from the first sight. Its exterior is decorated with various ornamental figures that add additional charm. Two burning candles stuck to the box from the right side are especially beautiful.
Zotov has chosen to depict here brave "hussars", or officers of a high rank in the Tsar Army. They fight with the French in the streets of burning Moscow. The box's front side features Tsar Alexander I riding the white steed. Under his command the Russian army won over the army of Napoleon in 1812. It was a glorious victory!
Blue, gray tones dominate here. The uniform of hussars is detailed with bright gold paint. The painting extends on the whole surface of the box, except its interior that is traditionally red. The lid is hinged. The artist wrote his name on the newspaper that is depicted under the legs of the soldier who stands next to Alexander I.
