M. Pichugina from the village of Fedoskino created this attractive box. It features a romantic girl who gathered flowers in the field. She looks into the distance, and dreams about love. Swallows hover over her head; they twitter merrily as if they want to say that the girl will be happy, and how beautiful the surrounding world is.
The scene is nicely painted, with a keen eye for detail, such as the wreath of wild flowers on the girl's head, or patterns and folds on her costume. A large piece of mother-of-pearl has been used as an underlayer for the entire scene, strengthening the colors and shimmering with subtle shades.
The scene is framed with a wide gold line. The box's exterior is covered with light blue paint mixed with gold powder. A multitude of golden rays come from the scene and fall down on the box's sides. The box's interior is covered with the dark red velvety material.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. A hinge is fastened from the left of the composition. The box can be locked by means of a gold metal needle. The box rests on four small rounded gold metal legs. It is signed and dated (2005) by the artist at the bottom of the scene.
