One of the top Fedoskino artists, Pavel Anokhin, created this exquisite work. His otherworldly style and subtle palette are as unmistakable as they are stunning. His approach to miniature painting is philosophical and he puts his thoughts behind every work. He prefers to create his own themes and scenes which he calls "dreams about the beautiful".
The box shows ladies and gentlemen who gathered in the park to observe the moonrise. They look with admiration at the dark night sky that glows with the light of the great fire. Each nook in the park is lit by the bright cold radiance of the full moon.
The entire surface of the box (except its bottom) is covered with intricately painted scenes. Mother-of-pearl helps to reproduce naturally the bright moonlight.
This box is made of high quality papier mache. The lid is hinged from the top of the scene, and the box rests on four gold metal legs. The work is signed and titled by the artist.
