Sokolova from the village of Fedoskino created this alluring box. Its whole surface is covered with colorful painting including its interior and exterior bottom.
The work is called "Sunflowers"; it features the beautiful girl dressed in the festive costume sitting among sunflowers. This scene is extended on the box's sides and exterior bottom where the artist continues to paint the wicker fence, sunflowers, birds, various plants and grass. All this is painted in oils over aluminum powder that enhances the colors and helps the box look festive and bright. Mother-of-pearl is set into the girl's dress to fill the scene with additional luster. Gold metal leaf shines through the girl's costume and through her jewelry; gold metal leaf is also inlaid into sunflowers to create their brilliance.
Sokolova applied the unique and complicated technique while painting the box's interior. Here she depicted flowers and birds in black paints against the red background. While painting these flowers and birds, she has used "dotted" method of applying paints, and achieved a stunning effect
