Yu. Golubyonkova from the village of Fedoskino painted this peaceful summer landscape. It is painted in oil-based paint, using a unique watercolor-like technique. The scene is painted in the realistic style; here the artist doesn't exaggerate the beauty of Russian countryside, and shows its modest charm. It's possible to see such a pond overgrown with dense vegetation almost in every Russian village.
The colors taken from the palette are very natural and realistic, which enhances the quality of the landscape. Predominance is given to greens, browns and blues. The depicted scene is filled with air, and it seems it is possible to scent the aroma of fresh green grass.
The scene is framed with a gold line; the box's sides are decorated with two parallel gold lines.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. A hinge is fastened to the top of the scene, and the box rests on legs. The work is signed with the artist's name, Fedoskino and the year of 2006.
