This is one more peaceful winter landscape painted by Sergey Kirsanov. Being enchanted with the beauty of Russian nature in winter, he has already created a series of dramatic winter landscapes. Each of them is perceptively and realistically painted showing a peculiar charm of Russian countryside.
The scene is painted in white and light grey oils suitable for reproduction of a dull winter day. Mother-of-pear is set into the sky to create a golden glow of the sunset, and to enliven the scene.
The scene is framed with a thin gold line.
The box is constructed out of paper-mache, and has the original semicircular shape. It is hinged from the bottom of the scene, and rests on a flat bottom. For ease of opening the box is supplied with an oval button attached to the box's body.
The box is interestingly decorated. Its dark grey exterior is studded with almost invisible spots of a lighter grey tone. On the box's exterior bottom the artist has created a semicircular area framed with a thin gold line, and filled dark grey tiny and very thin veins scattered against the light grey background. The same dark grey tiny veins scattered against the light grey background can be found on the button attached to the box's body for ease of opening. The box's interior is traditionally red.
