Vladimir Sindyukov is a master of architectural scenes. He has created a series of works dedicated to St.-Petersburg, and this box continues this interesting theme. Here the artist has chosen to depict the view of the St. Isaak's Cathedral (it is depicted in the background) from the embankment of the Fontanka River. In the foreground we can see the nice stone bridge. There are more than 400 bridges in St.-Petersburg as it is a city of rivers and canals. A network of 65 rivers and canals across the city makes it reminiscent of Venice or Amsterdam.
The scene is well painted in glowing pinkish tones. An exquisite miniature.
