Description:

This interesting work is a creation of Vladislav Maslov from the village of Fedoskino. Each of his works is unique; it can create a sensation in the lacquer miniature world as it is notable for abundant detail and original execution.
This box is called "Juggler", and features the elf juggling with berries and seeds. Some of the berries and seeds are crafted three-dimensionally as well as the fly sitting on the right bottom corner of the box. The scene is also filled with falling leafs; some of them are highlighted with gold paint. To make the box look more appealing, Maslov continues to paint the golden leafs on the box's sides and exterior bottom. Gold paint also creates almost unnoticeable shimmer of the fly.
The scene is framed with a thin violet ribbon. The box's sides are covered with light blue paint, whereas the exterior is covered with copper metal paint. The interior is covered with red paint mixed with gold dust. In the middle of the lid's interior there is an oval piece of mother-of-pear, on which the artist has written his name and the title of the work.
The box is made out of paper-mache. The lid is hinged from the left of the scene, and the box sits flat.
The box rests on the leaf covered with brown-copper metal powder and innumerable number of black and silver veins. This leaf is so intricately done and painted that it looks as if it is a real one. The leaf is also decorated with three three-dimensional snails; each of them has the natural mother-of-pearl shell. The edges of the leaf are outlined with a thin gold line. The leaf's underside is dark grey. Brilliantly done!
