Description:

This small attractive box continues a series of works dedicated to St.-Petersburg created by Anzhela Mikhlyova. Each of her boxes is a little treasure, unique and collectable.
Here the artist has chosen to depict the picturesque embankment of the Fontanka River. The scene is painted in various shades of blue oils. These tones help to reproduce perfectly the atmosphere of the city called "Russian Venice". The architecture, the sky, the river and the trees are highlighted with brilliant aluminum powder. It creates a very beautiful visual effect. Mother-of-pearl shines brightly through the building painted in the middle of the scene.
The scene is framed with a silver line. The box's sides are adorned with luxuriant silver patterns detailed thinly with brown oils.
The box is constructed from quality paper-mache. The exterior of the piece is painted with black lacquer while the interior is painted with red lacquer. The box has a hinge from the top of the scene, and rests on a flat bottom. Signed with the artist's name, and the village of Fedoskino.
