This picturesque view of the St. Trinity Sergious Monastery located in the town of Sergiev Posad (Zagorsk in the Soviet times) has been painted by Gaiduk from the village of Fedoskino. The scene is realistically painted in various tones of oils that correspond to the depicted season. Gold and silver metal powder is used to highlight the architecture, the bushes painted in the foreground and some of the firs.
The scene is framed with a gold line; the box's sides are adorned with two parallel gold lines.
The box is constructed out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The lid is hinged from the top of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name, and the title.
