This oval shaped box has been painted by talented artist Ludmila Davydova from the village of Fedoskino. The box's lids show big brown and golden butterflies hovering over blue bell-shaped flowers. The same butterflies and flowers decorate the box's interior; they are painted both on the lid's interior and on the box's interior bottom.
Gold metal leaf shines brightly through each of the butterflies drawn on the lid and on the box's interior.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. A hinge is fastened to the top of the scene, and the bottom is flat. The work is signed with the artist's name.
