This small Fedoskino box painted on the Christmas theme is a creation of I. Ilyina. Here she paints two little girls who carry glass Christmas ornaments, and hasten to celebrate Christmas. One of them wears the fancy dress costume of an angel, under her warm clothes. The scene shines with mother-of-pearl inlay, gold and silver metal powders.
The edges of the lid are decorated with a simple but elegant pattern. The black lacquered exterior of the box is adorned with almost invisible light grey blurry spots to imitate the coloring of a stone. On the box's exterior bottom the artist has painted three little snowflakes. The interior is traditionally red.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. It has a hinge from the left of the scene, and rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name, Fedoskino, and the year (2006).
