This attractive oval box has been painted by Danilina Yulya. It features the Snowmaiden accompanied by several birds flying merrily over her. By mixing various tones of blue oils at the background, the artist creates an illusion that the Snowmaiden stands in the mist of spinning snowflakes, and looks at the viewer with a kind, angelic smile. The scene is painted over gold metal powder that sparkles magically from within.
The box's exterior is light blue, while its interior is traditionally red. The scene is framed with an elegant gold pattern; the box's sides are adorned with golden snowflakes. The Fedoskino "troika" insignia can be found on the interior of the lid.
The box is made out of paper-mache. The lid isn't hinged, and the box rests on a flat bottom. Signed with the artist's name, Fedoskino, the year of 2007 and the title (“The Snowmaiden”).
