Yelena Aldoshkina, the wife of another talented Fedoskino artist Yuriy Aldoshkin, created this attractive box. Here she depicts a couple looking at the Easter Egg with tender emotions, and thinking philosophically about life.
The scene is dream-like. Gold paint shines brightly through the girl's kerchief. Silver powder imitates the sparkle of snowflakes on her coat. Gold dust highlights some areas of the composition.
The box's sides are decorated with two parallel gold lines. The deep blue exterior is decorated with gold dust. The interior is traditionally red.
The box is constructed from quality paper-mache. The lid is hinged from the left of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name, Fedoskino, the title (“The Holy Sunday”), and the year of 2007.
