This enchanting Fedoskino box is a creation of Elena Aldoshkina. It shows a young couple having a rendezvous. The scene is painted in blue and green tones characteristic for all Aldoshkina's works. Gold paint is used to highlight the foliage of the tree under the shade of which the couple is sitting, and also to detail some of the plants.
The scene is framed with a gold line accompanied with tiny gold dots, and decorated with small hemispheres composed of tiny gold dots. A simple gold line can be found wrapping around the box's sides. The sloping edges of the lid are adorned with small circles composed of tiny gold dots.
The box's exterior is covered with black lacquer mixed with gold dust while the interior is traditionally red.
The box is made out of paper-mache. The lid is hinged from the top of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom. Signed with the artist's name, Fedoskino, the title ("The First Date"), and the year of 2007 on the lid's interior.
