This eyeglass case painted on the unhackneyed theme has been created by the famous Fedoskino artist Yelena Korolyova. It shows the erotic entertainment at French court - the stripper dressed in the extravagant costume tempts the brave general. The scene is painted against the black background to create the illusion that the action takes place in the dark room. Gold paint is used to paint the chair the stripper sits on, to detail the military uniform of the general, and to create the illusion of light coming from the lamp. Very interesting and innovative work!
The eyeglass case is made out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers its exterior and red lacquer covers its interior. The lid is hinged. The work is signed by the artist.
