This marvelous work is a creation of the talented Fedoskino artist Yu. Butova. It shows the European nobility of the 19th century gathered in the theatre hall, and awaiting for the beginning of a performance. The scene is masterfully painted in the realistic style.
The scene is framed with a gold line; the box's sides are decorated with two parallel gold lines.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. A hinge is fastened to the top of the scene, and the box rests on four legs. The work is signed, and dated (2007) by the artist. This ‘retro style' box will be a nice addition to your collection.
