This splendid Fedoskino box has been painted by Oleg Golovchonkov. It shows the goddess of hunting, Diana, and her companion resting after a successful hunt. Brilliantly painted, it is the artist's interpretation of a canvas-on-oil painting drawn in the style of Academic Classicism.
The scene is framed with a gold line; the box's sides are decorated with two parallel gold lines.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The box has a hinge above the scene, and rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the name of the artist at the bottom of the scene.
