Dmitry Tipyakov, the son of well-known Fedoskino landscape painter, Tatyana Tipyakova, is the author of this exceptional box. Here has chosen to depict a hunting scene. Several wood-grouses enjoy a sunny morning on the forest glade, and at the same moment a hunter with his dog sneak up to them anticipating with pleasure a good chase. Their silhouettes are scarcely visible through the encircling mist.
The scene is painted in the realistic style using various shades of brown oils. The trees and the grass are highlighted with gold and silver paints. A stunning hunting scene from a young talented artist!
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The lid is hinged from the top of the scene and the box rests on four legs. The work is signed with the artist's name, the title (“Russian Hunt”) and the year of 2007.
