Description: This is one more box from Rinat Yunusov's series of works dedicated to the Moscow Kremlin. Here he has painted a picturesque view of the Pokrovsky Cathedral (better known as the St. Basil's Cathedral) and the Spasskaya Tower. While scrutinizing the composition you can also find here the Historical Museum (the right part of the composition), Lenin's mausoleum (behind the Pokrovsky Cathedral), the Senate building (behind the Spasskaya Tower), the Tsarskaya Tower (to the left of the Spasskaya Tower), the Nikolskaya Tower (to the right of the Pokrovsky Cathedral), and the Corner Arsenalnaya Tower (next to the Nikolskaya Tower).
A wide range of bright oils has been used by the artist to paint this work. Mother-of-pearl shines beautifully through the building of the Pokrovsky Cathedral. Gold paint highlights the pavement, the wall that encompasses the Pokrkovsky Cathedral, the cupolas of the Pokrovsky Cathedral, the Spasskaya Tower's clock and some trees. Silver paint shines through the roof of the Spasskaya Tower.
The box's exterior imitates the coloring of a stone (turquoise blurry spots are scattered against the black lacquered surface) while the interior is traditionally red.
The box is made out of paper-mache. The lid is hinged from the top of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom. Signed with the artist's name, Fedoskino, and the title (“Moscow 2007. ‘The View of the Pokrovsky Cathedral and the Spasskaya Tower'”).
